San Bartolo (24 agosto) Festa del Patrono
Il 24 agosto di ogni anno si festeggia il Patrono di Geraci, San Bartolo.
Il 23 mattina, vigilia di festa, il clero con la Statua di San Giacomo, Confraternita, fedeli e banda musicale, dalla Chiesa Madre si recano nella Chiesa di San Bartolo alla periferia del paese, la cui statua è già addobbata;
I Santi vengono riportati nella chiesa madre.
Il dì della festa dopo la solenne celebrazione eucaristica, alla presenza di autorità civili e militari,
la banda musicale intrattiene il popolo in piazza del popolo con marcette allegre.
Nel tardo pomeriggio inizia la solenne processione. I Santi (primo San Bartolo e poi San Giacomo) portati a spalla dai giovani fedeli girano per le vie del paese.
Alla fine, i Santi, vengono posti uno accanto all'altro separati dalla navata centrale nella chiesa madre. Li resteranno sino al 24 settembre festa del Ringraziamento.
Questa volta sempre in processione sarà San Bartolo ad accompagnare san Giacomo nella sua Chiesa al Castello, mentre il Santo con il coltello in mano, segno del suo martirio, torna nella sua Chiesa alla periferia del paese.
La festa si conclude con il tradizionale sparo di mortaretti e spettacolo musicale.

ST. BARTHOLOMEW'S DAY (AUG. 24) PATRON'S DAY
On August 24 each year the patron saint of Geraci, San Bartolo, is celebrated.
On the morning of the 23rd, the eve of the feast day, the clergy with the Statue of St. James, Confraternity, faithful and band go from the Mother Church to the Church of St. Bartolo on the outskirts of the town, whose statue is already decorated;
The saints are brought back to the Mother Church.
On the feast day after the solemn Eucharistic celebration, in the presence of civil and military authorities,
the brass band entertains the people in the People's Square with merry marches.
In the late afternoon the solemn procession begins. The Saints (first St. Bartholomew and then St. James) carried on the shoulders of the young faithful go around the streets of the town.
At the end, the Saints, are placed next to each other separated by the nave in the mother church. There they will remain until September 24, the feast of Thanksgiving.
This time, still in procession, it will be St. Bartholomew who will accompany St. James to his Church at the Castle, while the Saint with the knife in his hand, a sign of his martyrdom, returns to his Church on the outskirts of the village.
The celebration ends with the traditional firing of firecrackers and musical performance.
